Frequently asked questions

This section is meant to address commonly asked questions about CaMedia. If you have any questions about CaMedia, please read this section first before contacting us.

Can anyone join CaMedia?

CaMedia was set up for people working or with a genuine interest in the creative media industries, such as publishing, broadcasting, and web design. However, unaccompanied guests are welcome at speaker meetings, so you can always come along and talk to us before deciding whether or not to join.

Why do I need to register to access the web site?

Registration means that we can keep track of who is using the site and are in a better position to cater to the needs of our members. The internet also has a low signal to noise ratio and registration means we can control who posts on the site.

What do I get if I become a full member?

A number of events, such as social events, will only be open to members and accompanied guests. Full members also receive discounted entry to speaker meetings.

How much does full membership cost?

Annual membership is currently £5. You can get a membership card when you attend an event.

How do I become a full member?

You can get membership when you attend a meeting or event.

How often do you meet?

At the moment we are planning to meet every two months.

I signed up but never receive emailouts. Why?

Please check that I have your correct email address. There are always a few emails returned as undelivered and I have no way of tracing these people to check if the email address on the site is right. Please also check that my email address is "whitelisted" so that CaMedia newsletters are not rejected as spam. AOL is particularly hostile to emails from me! If in doubt, you can contact me through the "Contact CaMedia" page on the site and I will try to find out why the emails are not reaching you.

Reasons to register

If you register for the site – which is free – you will get access to CaMedia news, industry newsfeeds, members directory, discussion forums, and jobs database.

Reasons to become a full member

Full members can take advantage of special CaMedia discount schemes, reduced entrance charges and priority booking for events, and invitations to members only events.
